Spain is a wonderful country and I definitely do not agree with the two previous contributors who say the Spanish are racist. I am from the U.K. and have lived here 15 years now and have always found the Spanish to be very accepting of the hoards of foreigners who reguarly, and often permanently, invade their shores, much more so than the Brits anyway.
The country is diverse and interesting with so many different sights to see both in the towns and cities and the countryside. It has more areas of land given over to nature conservation than any other country in Europe and works hard to protect it and the animals that live there.
The way of life is good and the food and drink excellent, the mediterranean diet being the healthiest in the world. Well I could go on for ever but if you want to learn more about Spain take a look around my web site where you will find lots of info. which I hope will be of interest to you.

Spain is ok, I have been here for about 10 years, both on the costa del sol and barcelona, The racist zone comments i can understand on rare occaisions, it depends on your level of spanish, and what you are trying to get done, if you are trying to get them to do something quickly (which is not easy) they will invairiably say something along the lines of "bloody foreigner" in spanish.
Having said that, if you can accept the manana lifestyle and dont let the illogical thought get in the way, its ok
you need to bear in mind this was a communist country until the 70's so they are not quite up to speed with the uk or germany for instance. |
