What do you think of Spaniards?

Spaniards are great.

Generally speaking, I love how freely they express themselves and how they have a lack of fear. They're a vibrant, outgoing people and very warm once you get to know them. And once you do get to know them they treat you like family. But if they're not happy with you for some reason they're quick to tell you.

Spaniards love to LIVE - and they do it well. When they have free time they're always doing something outside, going places, eating and drinking. They don't hold back their need for enjoyment.

I love how touching one another is part of their culture. They kiss you upon meeting, kiss you upon saying goodbye, no problem giving hugs and grabbing you arm affectionately. Adults often caress the hair of cute little girls sitting at an adjacent table and the parents - nor the child - are bothered by it. (this last part is unfortunately disappearing quickly however)

I LOVE SPANIARDS! And Spaniards are very similar to people of Mediterranean countries too.

They are the same as every other country, there are the great, the good, the bad and the just plain Bas***ds

They are among the loveliest people in the world - funny, friendly and with a healthy curiosity about foreigners. Good-looking, too. The only criticism is that they are too image-conscious - they are not as relaxed as you might think about ´letting themselves go and being themselves´ - they have a mortal fear about making an embarrassment of themselves in public (at least they do in the north-west). Also, they are convinced that us Brits don´t have a clue about eating or partying. Something I would like to say to Spaniards - at least we have the guts to try new food and - you don´t need to start the night at midnight and finish at 7am to have a good time - we in Britain usually don´t still feel like crap at work on Monday morning after a Saturday night out. But on the other hand you don´t get the nastiness you see in the streets late at night in the UK. Nights out are pleasant in Spain - not ugly and threatening. And Spanish teenagers are cute and funny - not aggressive t**s.
Oh, another thing - Spaniards - do you know there is this thing called workers´ rights? And that in the UK you can get a job with out knowing someone in the company? Something thatis lacking in Spain.

Each one is different from all the others. Every person in Spain is unique. You can't lump everyone together and express an opinion about a whole nation. I live in the UK and I wouldn't like to be thought of as being the same as some of the folk I see around.

My Spanish neighbours are the best neighbours I've ever had. In General Spaniards are great. In some areas of high immigration there can be resentment. Especially when the hospitals fill up or in areas of water shortage there can be anymosity, but in general I find them lovely people.

Great

SUE
Warm and friendly. Some of the nicest people I have ever known were the folks I met while living there.

And, I might add, most of the immigrants I met on this last trip fit right into that...so, most people living in Spain, even the illegals! good people!

I can't speak for the whole population of Spaniards but I have lived here in Spain 17 years, my son in law is the best Spaniard I've ever met hard working, loyal and great to his mother in law too!!, I'm glad my daughter married him. My grand daughter is Spanish and I have many Spanish friends too. You have to go by what you find, and over all the years I've been here fortunately I have only met a few pigheaded macho men, so there cant be many.
Like all nationalities there are good and bad, don't believe all you hear they don't all like bull fighting and eat paella, If you are decent and respectful to them, they will be the same to you.
