I was in Salamanca two weeks ago for their feria week. It's a beautiful city. The old town is very compact, so visiting and sightseeing all the places is great. The atmosphere was electric with musicians on every street corner and dancing in the streets.
I will be going back next year and I will also be visiting the nearby by town of Ciudad Rodrigo which is about 90 kilometres away.
If you are going there to study, you couldn't wish to study in a more beautiful place. |

Salamanca, apart from being a beautiful historic city, is also a great university city - with a really good student atmosphere in the centre.
The city attracts many exchange students and the university is renowned for the international feel. It is a great city to meet people, have a great time and get the most out of student life.
If I were to recommend one Spanish city to an exchange student, it would be Salamanca! |

There are a lot of great cities in Spain for study abroad.
Salamanca is great because of the history...it's the oldest university in Spain (and any student will at least visit there).
I've never been there, myself, but I hear they have a great night life, too! (a really student oriented city - student centric night life).
I lived in Seville. Did a full year there. My advice: travel as much as you can reasonably do, and go back for a full year if you can! REALLY get a handle on the language that way. |

I've never been there but I've read that the oldest university in Spain(one of Europe's oldest)is there...and it is famous for its beautiful plaza that is gorgeously lit at night. |
