What is so good about the Basque region in Spain?

I have heard good things, is it all that people say it is?

old know all
It's a beautiful region. There's coast ocean (great surfing country) and mountains. What's more the locals speak a language that seems to consist entirely of Ks.

.
Greetings from Vitoria-Gasteiz, capital of Euskadi

I`m a scouser and have lived in The Basque country for 15 years.

Beautiful cities , villages and coasts.
Great culture and cuisine.
Too much to list.
The people love tourists too.

Take no notice of Joan.

I wouldn`t leave it to return to England.

The food, baby, the food. You gotta love the food up there. Start with the fish, have the callos, and end with the gateau basque.

Very good region and very interesting culture despite what is writing joan.Small villages are very interesting and very well maintain.
The most intesresting is their culture just catch the calendar of Donosti/San Sebastian and youwill see all activities they still have and they still maintain.

As area to visit you will have all the coas from mundaka, lekeitio, getaria, zarautz, orio and hondarribia. There are 2 very nice towns and very delightful for the food Getaria and hondaribia.
Baztan valley is very scenic with the area of azpeitia.

Regarding comment of joan, i do live in donosti for now ten years and any civil people have been killed. All crime are made against political and not against turist or local people, all bombs attacked are always communicated before explosion.( except national building always empty)
Mr Joan to do a comment like this it is better to learn or read newspaper, than heard general comments of ignorant people that are not based and talk with any knowledge of the situation.

Do people don t go to usa because bomb attacked in 95 in oklahoma or in 01 in NYC?

Tourism is made to discover landscape and also to discover and learn culture.

The food is great.

The downside is that it is the base of the ETA terrorist organisation. You could be unlucky like vthe Spanish girl killed in Northern Ireland.

Go to the Santander area instead. They really have the mountains. The Picos de Europa are fantastic! Santillana etc. etc.
