I've taken the bus across Mexico from Chetemal to Tijana. The people are wonderful. The long-distance buses are very nice, expecially from Mexico City to Chetemal and they stop at terminals where you can get fresh sqeezed orange juice and food. Merida is a beautiful colonial city that has festivities during the Christmas time and lots of policemen to keep everything safe for the tourist.
I've also traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is a safe place to travel although I'm sure there are areas that are not. We stayed at the Republica by the Obelisk and would recommend that area for walking and shopping. There are lots of sidewalk cafes where you can order a beer and they bring you a tray of cheese and meats. A tasty local meal is "Melanesa". |

Spain is in Europe, hence NOT in Latin America.
Argentina is in South America, which IS in Latin America (america, get it?)
Also, if Argentina, by virtue of the fact that it is in South America is not in Latin America (??) then neither is Colombia, since it, too is in South America...
Which country to go to? Any of them will be fun.

Actually, that is a trick Question. Argentina and Spain are not considered to be Latin American countries. Spain is a European country, and Argentina is a South American country.
Anyway, the answer depends on what you are looking for. Personally, i prefer Mexico. You have all of those wondrous Aztec and Mayan ruins, the Mayan riviera along the Caribbean (my favorite vacation spot), and of course the food. :) Everything costs less if you aren't looking for luxury, and if you are, you can find great deals with all-inclusive resorts. |
