Barcelona definitely. Is the most cosmopolitan city in Spain. Good eating, night life, museums, history, beaches and architecture. If your are planning to go take at least 5 nights. Don't miss the works of Gaudi especially La Sagrada Familia unfinished church, Parque Guell and Casa Mila (La Pedrera), the Barrio Gotico, La Rambla, The Olympic City and Montduic, the Tibidabo amusement park, the water front and the museums of Miro and Contemporary art. Check the touristic buses the red and blue lines can give you to this attractions and other ones. From Barcelona you can take day excursions to Tarragona or Andorra.

Well sorry to go against the crowd but Granada holds my heart forever. Yes Barcelona has all the now and happening things to do with unbelievable architecture, great shopping, and resturants. However, Granada is in a class of its own. It has the feel of oldness, antiquity, and just like you are at home. The people are amazing, kind, and generous. We also have great scenery: La Alhambra, el Sacremonte, el Albycin, Sierra Nevada Mts. It's simple down home goodness and that's why I love Granada. Second choice is Cordoba. |

I liked madrid very well. But I have to say sail cat is right if you want to get the best of spain Barcelona is sweet. There is also a great new Aquarium the largest in europe near there a real must see with all kinds of amazing exhibits.
