The British Isles. They are relatively safe, and once you're there, it's easy to get from place to place. There are many sites of interest out in the countryside (Blarney Castle, Stonehenge, Loch Ness and Hadrian's wall, to name a few). If you seek more metropolitan diversions, then you need go no further than London. After New York and Tokyo, London is the greatest city on the planet. There you will find a modern, vibrant atmosphere, built upon 2000 years of culture, treasure, and Empire. And if you go in the summer, the days are very long, and the nights warm. |

Paris (France) has dozens of interesting things (the Louvre, the Eiffel Tower, L'Arc de Triomph). It's one of the greatest places in Europe. |

Oh my! Hard to choose. Belgium I think is great, since Paris is 3 hours away by car, Holland is 2 hours away by car, and Germany is 2 and a half hours away by car. So basically it's in the middle. Belgium itself is beautiful and has many cities to see, like Bruges which has a corner that is akin to venice. People there talk french and flemish, and it has been considered by some as the country side of france. If you ever go to Brussels, you have to go to Grand Place. It's where they fill the ground with roses every year and there are two small restaurants that sell the most deliscious sandwiches that you will EVER eat in your entire life! no kidding! So, in my opinion, if you begin with Belgium, you will have the advantage of visiting 4 europpean countries at once and with ease. Since the day is VERY long in the summer in europe (sun sets around 8 or 9 PM) we often went to paris and back in one day :) Hope this helped. |
