What is the best place to get a cheap ticket to Europe for the summer without burning a hole in my pocket??
I used this to go to Europe a couple years ago and my brother used it last year.
It's a really cool, small company that lets you fly standby. It's like 400 dollars round trip to Europe, they give you a bunch of cities to choose from and an open return date.
You just have to be flexible because it's possible to go to the airport and not get on a plane on the first try.
It worked really well for me but it's not for everyone.

Most airlines run summer sales, so look around, also try Travel Discount Newsletters. For a package trip my personal favorite is Go-Today.

has a very comprehensive list of budget airlines depending which country you're flying from and to... some which aren't avaliable with expedia or travelocity..
depending where you're flying from it may be cheapest to fly to London and take an EasyJet or Ryanair flight to the next location.. though remember that you're not allowed as much baggage with european flights as with american flights.. 20-25kgs vs 60kgs.

Fly in the middle of the week and book a month ahead. Check the internet sites I think 1800fly europe is the best but also check the travel brokers in your sunday paper they have recently had some deals. Also keep in mind you have to fly out of a major hub to get the best deal usually. Try at least five different sites or brokers before you buy. Have a wonderful time and be safe! Good Luck!
