The largest and most famous museum in Spain is El Museo del Prado in Madrid, it has all types of classical artwork from paintings to sculptures. Though it is most reknowned for the paintings.
It is followed by the Reina SofĂa Museum of Modern Art and
The Thyssen Art Collection Museum, both also in Madrid.
And after that you have the Guggenheim museum of modern art which is in Bilbao in northern Spain.
There are wonderful smaller and less well known museums all over the country, such as those in Barcelona,Valencia, Seville, etc.
All in all I'd say there are at least 150 museums in Spain worth a visit!
