or get a phone line put in and get internet ... don't know how long that will take - it's telefonica ....

Telefonica are rubbish. They are the equivalent of BT. They are so used to monopolising the market that they haven't learned the art of customer service yet.
How you get the internet will depend on where you are. Try phoning ONO on +34 902 929 800 and seeing if they cover your area. They do internet and TV and telephone and have a much better service and price than Telefonica.
Otherwise you can try jazztel for internet.

They have an offer at the moment which is free internet until 2009.
If you are not in an area covered by ADSL service, the vodafone cards are pretty good and there are always some good offers on.

I use ADSL Telefonica. Cost me 65â‚¬ a month that includes telephone rental and all my Spanish calls not International. So I know my monthly telephone bill is 65â‚¬.

There are quite a few Internet suppliers in Spain depending on where you live. Many are radio / satellite connections like the one I am using right now. The biggest supplier in Spain is Telefonica, but they are great if you live in a large town or city. They aren't too good if you live in a relatively new house in a rural area. Some areas there are no phonelines, so you have to use satellite. The satellite is just as good. The price will vary from company to company. If you are moving to Spain you will find plenty of people to advise you in your area.

I stick with Telefonica, I am always getting phone calls from firms offering cheaper connections, etc., but they are only cheap for about 3 months, then they whack up their charges to match Telefonica!
Telefonica you have the best service for your money in any language.

if you have a spanish ip address you will find that tv from the uk will be blocked i live in spain and have Satellite internet i,ve tried various way to watch uk internet tv but it comes up saying that it cannot transmit to this ip address. I pay 40 euros a month but you can get it from vodaphone for 20 if you sign a twelve month contract but it normally around 40 don,t bother with telfonica they told me i would have to wait 10 days for my phone line hundreds of phone calls and five years later we are still waiting
