Hey there. I live in Spain but am an American with antescedents from Mexico and am also half Native American so you can imagine my "BROWN". (Yowzers) Anyways, Brown people in Spain, a lot of people are brown from their summer tans all year round but I would say those who are naturally brown and "white" (people with black, brown, red and blonde) are 20% versus 80%. The naturally brown people are of gypsy descent. Those are the native Spaniards. There are a lot of immigrants now but I have not included them in the ratio. Hope this puts your mind at ease. |

Most Spanish people are what you could consider white. They tend to have olive skin and dark hair and tan easily in the South and be more blonde and even red head in the North but they are all white. |

Unfortunatley the general opinion here in spain is that you can't really be spanish unless you are white, and that anyone claiming to be spanish but being slightly to brown will be questioned about where they are "really" from.
Take for example a colleague of mine, who is born in spain, has lived all thier life here and speaks spanish with the most madrileño of acents. Her parents are from vietnam, and so she looks vietnamese. However whenever anyone asks where she is from, and she answers Madrid, the reply is alway "oh but you're clearly not Spanish!" must dirve the poor girl mad.
Perhaps one day once there are more 2nd & 3rd generation imigrants here, the spanish will finally accept that nationality is about where YOU are from, not where your GREAT grandparents are from.
A lot of previous comments; "Spain is european and therefore white", reflect this attitude. Europe is now multicolour & much better for it. |

Why do you keep on asking this question again?
Whites are the majority here in Spain. We are European! What´s this all about? |

When I lived in Scotland I was white, but now I live in Spain I'm dark brown. Now what was your question! |

Mostly white. "Brown" people are part native American, generally. Spaniards are European. And they look it. |

The ratio is high for brown/toasted skin people on summertime, while low on winter. Also noticeable is the high ratio of red skinned people on summertime. Blame it on the brits and swedish. Then there's the yellow skinned americans at San Fermin's running of the bulls as well... |
