Hi,
Madrid is about 2.5 hours on the fast train, 5 on the slow.... Barcelona is quite a long way away - about 1 hour flight from Malaga or probably 8 hours drive at least.
To go to Morocco from Marbella you would drive to Algerciras (might have spelt that wrong) and take the ferry - its reasonably priced and doesnt take too long. if you went to a website like andalucia.com you would probably be able to find out info easily. On the drive between Marbella and Algerciras (past Gibraltar) there are lots of huts in laybys selling ferry tickets.
There is a water park in Fuengirola, safari park in Estepona, aqua museum in Benalmadena... A lovely day out would be to drive to Nerja (about an hour East from Marbella) as theres lots to see and do there - Caves etc.... Frigilliana (just up the road from Nerja... Marbella Old Town for a coffee in Orange Square and a wander around the cobbled streets....
Drive up to Benahavis (about 20mins drive from Marbella) for dinner in a nice restaurant and a wander round the quaint 'real' Spain....
Drive up to Mijas (about 20mins from Marbella) Its a lovely white washed village - bit touristy but really pretty and worth a visit for a day & have lunch etc....
Estepona is nice too!
So.... Mijas, Benahavis, Marbella Old Town, Nerja, Frigilliana, Estepona....
Average meal somewhere reasonable - I can only really quote for 2.... Indian with 1 glass of wine & 1 beer €25 - €30 for 2.... Italian - 2 courses and a bottle of wine €50 - €60 Breakfast at cafe €5 per head... Tapas at Spanish bar €3 per tapas (snack) Nice Italian in Marbella (for example Toni Dallis €80 inc wine... (Da Brunos is highly reccomended and reasonable - about €25 per head)
Hope that helps! |

Madrid and Barcelona are 2 day driving trips away. A nice 2 hour drive is a trip to the magnificent city of Grenada, and well worth a visit.
Morocco is not worth a trip. |

Yes lots to do, with car you can visit the white villages in the mountains, these are Beautiful and the restaurants are excellent value.
In Marbella if you try the back street away from the beaches you will find great local restaurants, big market held between Puerto Banus and Marbella out ot the town.
yes you can go to Morocco for a day trip, nearest cities to visit Granada,Seville both fantastic approx 2hr drive. |
