What should I wear in Barcelona?

Somebody told me that I should dress like the girls in Barcelona when I go this summer. What do they typically wear? One person told me they don't wear shorts. Is this true? I appreciate any answers!

whatever you want. there is no a "typical wear".

tray to wear a raincoat if it's rainning and shirts if it's hot, ahhh!!! if you visit the cathedral it is forbidden for woman to show skin on the upper side, you need more clothes or buy a pañuelo. catolyc (or economical) reasons.

Well, yes, they do wear shorts, but not your big baggy bermuda types. Spanish girls/women in big cities dress smart and with a lot of style. Most clothes are expensive, brand names (with labels or distinguishing marks showing). Their clothes are well-fitting, they wear make-up and jewellery and tend to be more feminine. You ought to dress how you'd like to be dressed if the TV cameras came round the corner, or if you bumped into your favourite heart-throb.

no shorts!? I saw tons of young girls in shorts...skin tight, with flip flops! They were extremely casual there! Don't dress that way in Seville. You'll stand out like a sore thumb.

Go to the Corte Inglés department store site...click on Jóvenes, I think is the name of the link, and you'll find a whole catalog of what is selling in Spain...not terribly different from what you would see in the US, but there is a different, more feminine flair to everything done in Spain...check out the zapatos, too. You'd be surprised how different their shoe fashions are.

Barcelona is a big city. You can wear whatever you want, no one would look twice at you. There are people of every kind and in Spain we wear the same kind of things you people do.
Look at this web in summer. Now its full of coats. Have a nice travel.
