Synagogues (two), Cathedral, El Greco House - Museum, other El Grecos in various places (Burial of Count Orgaz in Santo Tome church) for one. San Roman Church and Visagoth Musuem. You can see the whole place in one day. Great place to walk around. If you are there for evening meal and have money try the Adolfo Restaurant. |

Check online to be sure that the Greco House is open. It was closed for renovations last summer, but, even with Spanish construction schedules, they may be done now. It would only slow you down for a little bit, and all the artwork you want to see from his house is in a little museum and available for viewing, but you don´t really want to have to detour if you can go straight to the museum.
Also, while you're there, you want to get some marzipanes. It is the local treat, supposedly the best in Spain. |

In addition to what has been said, you might want to visit the Alcázar for its historical significance.
Also, a trip via cab to the parador across the RĂo Tajo is worth the trip. There is a beautiful view of Toledo from a slight elevation that has been treated by painters throughtout history. It's very scenic. |
