Well first of all it is a lot bigger then it looks so if you are planning to travel around, concider the travel time.
Also keep in mind that in certain areas, mugging, pickpocketing, and sexual assault are major issues. I know a woman who was mugged twice in Barcalona and I was with a friend who was nearly pickpocketed in Seville. Ibiza also has lots of cases of mugging and sexual assaults.
That is not to say that you shouldn't go. Spain is a facisnating place to visit. Just be carefully and alert. Don't walk down dark alleys at night. I noticed a couple of times that I was being followed in Barcalona so I turned around and made eye contact and the person turned and walked the other way. Also be carefully of people in pairs or group trying to sell you things. Sometimes one is distracting you while the other picks your pocket. I have actually seen this happen. Just pay attention to what is happening.
Other then that, enjoy. Try the local wines, they are great. Go to a nice Tapas place where they will pair the wine with the Tapas. Eat where the locals eat. Spanish food is really good.
Also try and learn a few Spanish phrases. It isn't a difficult language so you should try and it makes them really happy. Also a lot of people dont' speak English so it will help. |

Expect it to be fairly chilly, especially this time of year. Because of Spain's location, it doesn't warm up as much as one would expect. Also, remember that you will need European outlet adapters. Change your money to Euro before you get there, and you will probably get a better deal. |

I brought warm clothes as the weather was cold, and of course an umbrella.
