It really depends where you are going to be. It also depends where you are from.
I was in Sevilla in October, and at the beginning of the month, we Americans thought it was hot, but the Spanish people were all wearing quilted coats and scarves. (okay, it turns out those coats weren't QUITE as insulated as they looked, but still, they seemed to think it was quite cold...around 75 - 85 F). It would be much cooler in Madrid, or in the mountains.
If you were looking at going to a beach, along the coast, it might be too chilly. The Islands would be nicer; I'm pretty sure the Canarias, (never been there, myself, but I assume, since they are very near the Equator) would be nice all year, barring storms. |

Depends where you are going. Northern Spain could be quite cool but sunny. Southern Spain could be warm, today in South East Spain the temperature is only 21 degrees compared with 32 last week. It has been raining very heavy today. Once the night time temperature drops the sea and swimming pools can be very chilly.
If you are from UK it will seem warm. |

Spain is hotter in the south than in the north in October. I spent last October on the Costa del sol and went swimming every day. |

I live in Galicia, Northern Spain and last year October was glorious, sunbathing on the beach etc. |

depends where you go and what weather theyve been having-ive been spain many times in october and its differed each time. Ive had pleasant (but certainly not hot) weather and ive had a dismal, wet and windy time there too. |

It depends on where you go, north or south, but it can be lovely, warm and sunny and good enough to go on the beach. On the other hand it can be stormy sometimes and the rainstorms can be dramatic. Just go prepared for both. Its still much better than the UK. |

Well,it all depends on where you go,but October is not going to be hot this year by the looks of it.Today it´s quite nippy in Barcelona province for instance,as we´ve had rain for the past two-three days (now it´s 15ºC in my patio) Autumn has come a bit earlier this year.
We can still have some warmer days, but nothing like the summer anymore. So if you are planning to go swimming in October, try the south, but I don´t guarantee warmth...October can be from 10 to 20 ºC I suppose. It all depends on the weather (sunny or cloudy...this country has big drops of temperature when we don´t see the sun) |
