The northern coastline in the Basque part of Spain, around Zarautz and San Sebastien is beautiful. And is not too touristy.

Okay...NOT Sevilla? honestly, email me if you want to know what to do there, but I'll skip it if you really aren't interested.

Granada. Must see the Alhambra, and, if you have time, wander around in the Albaicín and then to the market area (can't remember the name, but it's arabic, too).

You want less known? Ronda. Most beautiful little town! It sits on this incredible cliff, and you could spend a week just biking around the area. There must be camping nearby, because there's tons of park land.

And if you're in the south...it rarely rains there, so you should have nice (if really hot) weather. There's a really nice, unspoiled beach, national park, I think, somewhere along the coast north of Valencia. You should check into that. Do a search of Globetrekkers...they covered it a while back.

Galicia and the Basque Country- those are really my two favorite areas- they have such wonderful culture, and are not really touristy. Some must-see cities in the area include A Coruña, Lugo, Bilbao, San Sebastián, and Santiago de Compostela. Also, I really loved visiting Ávila, down in Castilla y León- it's an old medieval walled city, and the home of Santa Teresa. And Salamanca was wonderful, too. You really have an infinite variety of choices in regards to culture and scenery- Spain is such a wonderful country!

READ ALL THIS IS GOING TO BE LONG

n Granada the "must" is the Alhambra, of course; as the other people say here, there are long lines of people every morning trying to get tickets to enter the palaces; but you can buy the tickets in advance either on the Internet (http://www.granadahomestay.com/visitinga... or once you are in Spain, go to any BBVA bank and they sell the tickets there. I have bought them in the BBVA bank whenever I´ve been to the Alhambra. Maybe there are no tickets for the day you go to the bank, but there aren´t usually problems for the next day. The ticket includes the gardens of Generalife, which are just beautiful.
The Cathedral is really beautiful too; it was built by Diego de Siloé. Here you have the site:
http://www.granadamap.com/cathedral.htm
Very near the Cathedral, it´s the Royal Chapel; it´s another must!! The Catholic King and Queen (Isabel and Ferdinand) are buried there, as well as their daughter Juana and her husband Felipe, who were king and queen too. The site:
http://www.granadamap.com/capillareal.ht...
Go up to the ski resort in Sierra Nevada. You can ski or just walked around and enjoy its beautiful views. There´s a road which is the highest in Europe going up to Veleta peak, although you have to go by cablecar or walking (which maybe not possible in that time of the year because of the snow) because the road is now forbidden for cars and buses for ecological reasons.
Visit the old moorish quarter in Granada, the Albayzin; narrow streets with wonderful views of the Alhambra from St. Nicholas square.
Go to the park called Garcia Lorca, like the poet; it´s really nice for a relaxing walk or just to sit and have some rest.
And go into the bars and get free snacks with your drink; yes, they are called "tapas" and there´s an incredible variety of them, both cold and hot.
You have more information in this site:
http://granadainfo.com/english.htm

I have been to Córdoba only once, but I loved it; the "Mezquita" (Mosque) was beautiful as well as all the old part of the city. This is a useful site:
http://www.red2000.com/spain/cordoba/ind...

I have been to Jaén several times; it´s much more small than Granada or Córdoba and it has less things to see; but it´s worthy a visit to its castle (Castillo de Santa Catalina); check this site:
http://www.sol.com/visorfoto.asp?IdFoto=...
and this one:
http://www.alicante-spain.com/costa-del-...

That´s all!! Hope you´ll enjoy.

Spain is very nice .All parts of Spain have their beauty.I live near Barcelona so I could recomend you Girona coast (Costa Brava, even if it´s full of tourists in the summer. All Spain is actually.)
Another really beautifull place to go is Basc Country, very good views and not so crowdy,as people tend to go to the east coast.Asturias, very nice as well, also north, and then Galicia, north west. That´s for nice views and lovely food, and no so much night live.If you look for night live near the coast, then Girona coast or Andalucia (very hot but lovely)
Well, have a look in some webs and decide! It also depends on your age and if you are travelling with children or not.
If you want to contact me,say it here,as I don´t allow email in Yahoo, but we can sort it out for this afternoon.

if you want tourist overcrowded zones go to mediterranean, if you dont want that go to the north o nortwest of spain.

emadrid
You already got some good tips, but... if you go to Andalusia, definitely go to Úbeda and Baeza, two very beautiful little towns. Cádiz is also great, with Baelo Claudia, ruins of a Roman town beautifully located near the beach. If you stay in Madrid you might want to visit Arquitectura Negra villages, a 45-minutes drive from the capital in the direction Guadalajara. You can see some photos here http://www.dguadalajara.es/paginas_turismo/rutas_arq_negra.htm
Just click "galería fotográfica".
Hope you enjoy your stay!
