You should definately try social networking sites and search for profiles of people in barcelona or girona. Try places like myspace, facebook and the like.

It's an international site and most likely you will find people in your desired area who speak English. No doubt that to find exactly what you are looking for you will need to do some searching.

I know that madrid man has a forum, and he is the same guy that is barcelonaman. I don't know if there is a forum attached to the barcelona page, but you ought to be able to find some english speaking residents through that/those forums.
