If you are looking for, like, the kind that looks like a rectangle or a square slice, go to the grocery store. They have supermarkets there, and ask for Pan de Molde - integral.
If you are looking for bakery style bread, something closer to what we call an artisan bread, here, then go to any panaderĂa, and ask for pan integral. They will point you in the right direction. There should be many varieties. We had quite a few nice whole wheat breads while in Barcelona, and that's only a stone's throw away. If you really can't find anything where you are, get into Barça, and go to the BoquerĂa, where there were a bunch of bread shops in the middle, and find something you like there. Again...it's called pan integral (pa in Catalán??) |

The majority of spanish bread tastes like crap, including the crap in plastic bags in the supermarkets and the baguettes that are hard as a rock after one day. All the whole wheat bread is a sugary mess and the white even worse. I don't know why they put so much sugar in their bread . The only sliced bread I can tolerate is from mercadona, it's hacendado brand multi cereal and in a yellow and black bag. |
