I don't know for sure, but you seem to be a real Tarifa person. It's the most southern point of Spain, the hot spot for surfers in Europe and a bit of the epicentre of hipness. The whole costa de la luz north of it offers plenty of hiking and surfing possibilities and it's the ocean side of Spain, not the side of the mediterranean.

Problem here is that the biggest cities, Cadiz or Sevilla, are still an hour drive away, and to go skiing you will have to drive 2 hours to Granada.

If it does not have to be the ocean, then the other side of Spain, at the sea, offers everything for you, except for the surfing.

Perhaps too much to be all in one spot :)

Well, I lived in Madrid and it is a great city. it is my second home. BUT you like the ocean. I suggest Valencia or Barcelona.... Me, I would go for Barcelona.

Gabriel
What you're describing is kind of like a mix between Barcelona and Madrid. But from what you are saying about the beaches and surfing, I'm leaning a little more towards Barcelona for you.
