Hello there, and well done you on chosing Ibiza 7 times for your holidays in the past- It is a lovely island, however I can understand you wanting to try somewhere else in the world, so , let me see...

Ok, so bearing in mind that if you can go (and come back) before your little one's second birthday he will travel almost free- £19-£29 admin fee at the most is all you'll pay for him.

If you can do that you may well be able to find a hotel which will take all of you in one room with your 7 year old going free too- thats going to save you a lot of money.

If you like Ibiza's climate then it would make sense to try Menorca- it too is a lovely island, however it's not as diverse as Ibiza and I suspect you're going to find it too quiet- maybe not, but it is definitley a place for families and if you stick to Cala'n Porter (considered to be the busiest resort by menorcan standards) you might be ok.
Its around 2.6 hrs flying time and has a similar climate to it's sister island of Ibiza.

I do think though that maybe Majorca would be better for you- again same flying time & climate but Majorca is far more diverse.
I would suggest Alcudia as being a good resort for your family, with it's long white beaches and reasonably lively but family orientated nightlife, there is a good choice of hotels and apartments- bear in mind that SC will not be cheaper overall as the prices in Spain have gone up considerably since the euro was introduced.
Alternativley if Alcudia is too expensive for transfers, then try Santa Ponsa or even C'an Pastilla for some great deals.
This is what to do to get the best price...

Firstly book yourself a low cost flight
www.easyjet.co.uk

Then you book yourselves some accomodation & transfers

www.medhotels.com
www.roomsnet.com
www.holidaybrokers.co.uk
www.alpharooms.com

Hey presto- you've got a great deal!

As an alternative to Majorca, what about somewhere like either mainland Spain for a short flight (remember until you start paying for your infant at 2 years old, he will not have a seat on board the aircraft- you'll have him on your knee- so keep the flight as short as possible)

I'd suggest The Costa Del Sol- Benalmadena or even Fuengirola- again try easyjet and the aforementioned companies for flights and accomodafion.

I would seriously stay away from the big tour operators for a package if I were you. Their "extras" can be up to £70-80 per person on top of the price and for a family of four that adds up to a lot of money.
Also remember that if you're booking sc you may pay more for an apartment as the kids do not count towards the occupancy, so it's rarely cheaper than a hotel with a food option- Hotels are much better value for a family.

I hope you find what you're looking for- don't forget to check out sites like www.tripadvisor.com for the low down on any accomodation you might book- look before you part with any money and avoid an expensive mistake!

All the very best of luck!

Hi there... I would go to Menorca. Fair enough it is in the same group of islands, short haul, cheap, the people are extremely friendly, it is relatively peaceful but with the bars etc around if you want them and the beaches are to die for and most have the safety flags and life guards etc. I have been going there since 1999 with my son who is now 11 and we just love it... The Menorcan people absolutely dote on kids and nothing is too much trouble for them! A few year ago my son got a touch of sunstroke and ceremoniously threw up in the middle of an outdoor restaurant. The owners and waiters could not do enough for him and then when they had got us back to our apartment, 30minutes later there was a knock at our door with a freshly cooked meal! Going back in 9weeks! The weather is warm without being over-bearing (depending on what time of year you go) and there is greenery and history all around if you like that kind of thing! I would go live there tomorrow if I could! No matter where you decide to go though, just enjoy yourselves. Happy Holidays!

I've always enjoyed Portugal. The Algarve in particular is ideal for a beach holiday. Albufeira is very family friendly with excellent beaches, cheapish prices and good accomodation from Private villas to Hotels to apartments. Lots of activities including watersports and of course golf.
About a 3hour flight to Faro and about 1hr drive from airport
Portuguese very nice, I personally find them more friendly than the Spanish.

Go to the Canaries. Tenerife very similar to Ibiza tourist wise, but hire a car and travel round it and there is some amazing scenery. The volcano is spectacular. Also warm nearly all year.

Majorca. The Pollensa Park Hotel in Puerto Pollensa is great for Families. I have been twice with my brothers family and our parents. The staff have lots of time for children and plenty of activitites for them to do. It's Half Board but there is a self catering apartment block near by and you are allowed to use the facilities at the Pollensa Park. My brother and his family have been there 5 times. I think Thomas Cook go there but I definately know Bath Travel do.

How about mayorca or one of the canary islands, if your looking for good weather but not too hot around may time is pretty nice in the balearic islands such as mayorca. Theres a good range of family orientated activities and a childrens clubs at alot of hotels plus not too expensive to find a holiday and a short flight time of just over 2 hours (child friendly ;-) )
The canary islands might be a bit hot around then but can offer alot of interesting things to see especially if you go to Lanzarote, they have the timanfaya park with volcanic activity really fun to see on a coach tour or even in a hire car ;-)

Try the south Costa Blanca, Your husband can get the passport within two weeks.
The flight is only around 2 hours so great for first time flyers, There is also a company who specialises in accomodation for families with young children, They have plugsocket covers on all sockets, provide changing mat and nappy sacks etc, They hire out baby equiment and playstations etc. Well prices and special offers on property worth having a look. www.holitots.com

Why not try Galicia, it´s on the northwest coast of Spain, just above Portugal, you´ll find cheap acomodation, great beaches and not too much heat and there are loads of things to see. Ryan air do some cheap flights to Santiago de Compostela. Click on here to see more. http://galiciahouse.com
