If you want beaches, go to the mediterranean, or to the islands (Baleares or Canary ones).
If you want beaches and mountain, go to the north (Asturias or Santander)
If you want to eat really well, go to the north again (Galicia or Asturias) (I am not saying you will not eat well everywhere else...)
If you want a cultural holidays, anywhere is good as Spain is full of history.
Do not worry about the weather as September is warm here in Spain in general. |

Let's go to Malaga and Sevilla. The weather is very good (30 degrees).

Southern Spain in September. Sevilla, Cadiz, Puerto Santa Maria, Malaga, still very hot and the beaches will still be nice, the water will still be warm. Since the tourist season ends at the beginning of September motel / hotel rates will be inexpensive. |
