It all depends why you're going....what you looking to experience. In July, visiting all the touristic places is rather hectic and hot. You're best be is to visits the coast or Canary Islands. Also good are what others have mentioned above: Malaga, Valencia, and I also suggest Santiago, Balearic Islands or Catalonia. These are nice relaxing areas for a good vacation. Not to mention the culture, food and the night life! |

Not sure about the best place in July but I've just got back from visiting a little village called Galera, just north-east of Granada. It is amazing out there and very peaceful. We stayed in a cave house (yes, I did say cave) and it was just wonderful. Take a look at the website below, they sell and rent out cave houses and they are a really nice group of guys.

my advice is to avoid madrid at all costs. its the pits!
anywhere on the coast is good - depends on what you are looking for. Santiago is an amazing place to visit and if you coincide it with the festival they have there (about the beginning of july - you'll have to check the tourist info website for details) i guarantee you will have the most fantastic time. went last year and couldn't believe it all. paid for a hotel and ended up staying out all night and the day after, met the most fantastic people from all over the world and had an overall overwhelming experience |
