We are thinking of taking a week or 2 week long family vacation to Spain next year. Spain is one of our top destinations. As a kid I lived in El Puerto de Santa Maria. I would love to go back there and visit...Rota and Jerez as well. Just wondering if any of these cities are cheap and inexpensive hotel-wise or would we be better off staying elsewhere such as Madrid or Sevilla and just taking a day trip over to the Jerez/Puerto/Rota area?
There is a web-site that offers competitive pricing that has a meet or beat pricing policy that covers El Puerto de Santa Maria. It is really advanced and simple to navigate. It is:www.gulliversusa.com/1143591.... I have used this site and recommend it to all my friends.

El Puerto de Santa Maria is growing but still not as overrun as coastal areas on the East coast. I would say that Rota and Jerez are still VERY reasonable as long as you are not there in May when they have the fest of the Equestrians. Sevilla was rather exspensive last year. While down there travel along the "de la Fronteras" the best one being Rhonda de la Frontera.
