I have never known any of the tour operators to do 4 days in majorca, their flights are 7 or 14 days, occasionally they do 10 days. It depends what age your mam is? and how mobile she is, I think Santa Ponsa in Majorca is great, it is for families but has all the entertainment, Puerto Banus was nice but more for the 30+ single female and more of a window shopping place, unless you are only buying, Gucci or Armani type clothes. I have been to all the resorts in Spain and Santa Ponsa is the best with Alcudia 2nd, I hated Benidorm, Salou used to be good but didn't like it last year. If you are going for the sunshine don't go before mid May. From London it should cost about £200 each from scotland it cost about £300 for 4 nights, does she have a passport as it takes about 6 weeks to get one and costs about £100

Palma is great for shopping. It has lots of classy little shops and a Corte Ingles. The rest of the island has nowhere as good for shops.

For a beach near to Palma try Palma Nova. It's near Magaluff but more of a family resort.

You can get the bus into town.

Best value for money time is when the British & German schools are not on holiday. For sun go early July.

Any of the big tour operators should have good deals.

Soller is a lovely place the drive up to it along the coast has amazing views.
If you want an interesting day out go to La Granja. It is a large country house which shows the old style of living. They have free wine tasting and those little Spanish doughnuts with marmalade. There are craft displays, dancing, music, traditional baking, a walk along some beautiful tree lined paths with donkeys and goats. You can drive to it yourself or get a coach trip.

Hi

Palma is nice.

Its a busy place but away from the party land magaluf etc. There are ncie beaches, loads of shops, places to eat, there is a place where they have a good dolphin show, crazy golf etc.

why majorca, costa del sol is better, you can book an apartment near Marbella and you will be close to Puerto Banus, Capobino, lovely weather all year and guaranteed nice holiday.

Visit www.marbellaeye.com for more info about holiday rentals.

The Caves of Drach are absolutely spectacular which ends with a light show and the Cathedral at Palma is very pretty too. You can also get a train to Soller to the orange groves. It is really beautiful and scenic. There is also a Zoo at Palma and Marineland is just passed Magaluf (Santa Ponsa or Palma Nova, I can't remember the name of the town!). Marineland has dolphins and you can walk underneath a glassed bit and see them underwater. If you don't want loads of drunken teens, wet T shirt competitions, etc stay clear of Magaluf. Palma is 'classier' and Alcudia is more for families. Have a nice time!
