Where should i go in SPAIN?!?

I am doing a gap year this year (between highschool and college) and have just returned from living in Sevilla for 3 and a half months. After a stint in Italy I will return to Spain to continue learning Spanish, but I would like to continue with classes in a different city. I think I would prefer to go somewhere different than Andalucia (even though I adored Sevilla) in order to see more of the country.
I love good food, fun people, going out and staying out, lots of life and fun, interesting opportunities...
I think I have decided against both Madrid and Barcelona just because of size.

any ideas?! please give me some reasons!

I understand that Salamanca has some interesting universities. The whole city is a place of learning with rich history of Spain. As a city it is breathtaking.

Salamanca , the home of the eternal student.
Don't understand why not Madrid. It is a amazing city with so much to see and do. I would reconsider. However the best spoken Spanish is probably spoken in Salamanca. The old city is beautiful.

If you're really looking for a change, there's Salamanca, the oldest University in the country, and there are good schools in the north as well, in Oviedo, and Santander, I have heard.

Personally, I would never even have left Sevilla. My heart lives there, still, almost 30 years after I spent my junior year there. Love the city, people, food, University. I was just back this past spring, and would drop everything, if I could to do it again.

There are also good Universities and institutes in Granada and Alicante.

A good place to study in Spain is Salamanca. It has a very good and diverse university. Although it is in spain, many foreigners go so it doesn't make you feel left out.
