Have had a place in Santa Ponsa for 30 yrs, long before it became such a popular resort. Really all depends what you want for your children. There is normally a high Scottish element there although also very popular with the Irish. Saying that there are many other nationalities go there/ The Irish section tends to be lively to say the least, some people enjoy bringing their children there, others prefer to avoid it and very late/early morning lots of young people are around this area. However, this is really just one sort of street. There are quite a few bars with facilities for children, eg bouncy castles, toys etc etc. Burlington Berties and Scots Corner to name a couple. There is also a huge square in SP which literally has thousands of families in summer. The evening is always started with a childrens disco and later on good entertainment for the adults. Children usually make friends there and it is away from traffic so parents can relax. Beach is lovely although you require to check your accommodation as some complexes, even frontline are on the rocks. Still lovely but not if the children want the sand. There are plenty of buses available if you wish a day out eg Marineland which is excellent for children of 4 and 7 yrs. Go early and just take the service bus as the tours provided by the Reps charge much more. Wherever you go in Europe this year, owing to the £ it is really going to costs a hang of a lot more than last year. Hope this helps.

Alcudia would be better as it as a safer beach,i.e it takes a long walk out to get deep
