Where to go to work in Spain for summer?

Hi me and three friends ( all students) in our early twenties are going to spain this summer. We want somewhere that we can work, a tourist place as we don't have Spanish and would hope to get a job in a restaurant or maybe an irish bar or something. Somewhere with nice weather and beach.....It would be nice if there was surf but its not a necessity. We plan on heading over the end of may. We have been thinking of Malaga maybe Torrmelinas, or alicante or maybe marbella. Anywhere really thanks x

On the Spanish News this evening it said that in Andalusia the unemployment rate is 24.6% and rising.

Plan away, but don't hold out much hope of getting a job.

With over 4 million Spaniard out of work and looking, you probably won't find work.

Take a vacation, or wait until the economy improves.

Or try finding a service that hires people, but I wouldn't hold out a lot of hope.

noooooo
dont come

:))
now talking serious...... the others person who tell you its imposible to find a job have a base. a big one
are so many persons at homes without jobs you kan't realise.

You can go to any mediterranean place a s you say. In all those places speaking english is not a problem. Mallorca is a good place too. It's overcrowded of English and German people. I think that there are not a lot of surf places in mediterranean cost (there are more in the north of spain, but english may be a problem there). Anywhere you go you will have fun. Enjoy!

Your best to give Benidorm a go there the language isn't a problem and there's stacks of bars and restaurants to choose from.A nd actually it's a great place. i go every other week until mid season then it gets manic.

unemployment is very high and more and more immigrants are arriving from Pakistan everyday desperate for work etc. so i doubt you'll find anything.

gibraltar is a good place to visit. which is near to Malaga costa del sol. but hard to find a job cause of the current situation but noting impossible try your luck.

I agree with Gibraltar. It's easy to get to (from Luton or Gatwick or Manchester airport). There's some fantastic surfing on the Atlantic coast (costa Luz) in Tarifa about 10 miles away. Of course you have all the beaches along the costa del sol, not hard to get to. There's always work as waiters etc in bars and restaurants as students and other youngsters are always coming and going.

The Costa Del Sol has more options if you don´t speak Spanish. I live in Murcia, and here you need to speak Spanish , even at a basic level, for most jobs as most people speak no English.
But the economic climate has made it very difficult at the moment and shops and bars are closing down all over the place as the recession kicks in.
Try some of the online recruitment agencies, or consider applying to language schools to teach English, especially if any of you are studying at an advanced level. Other than that, many holiday companies used to take summer placements for kids club monitors etc for their campsites, although beach may not be an option.
Try searching for summer or temp jobs spain on google and you should get a lot of results. Happy Hunting!
