Where would you suggest visiting in Andalusia?

I know it's a big region, so to be more specific, I'm staying near Malaga, and was wondering if anyone could suggest some things to see/do within a maximum of 2 and a half hour drive away. What would you suggest to do in terms of scenic attractions/drives, historical sites, etc? Are there any particular towns you would suggest visiting, which aren't neccessarily attractions, but are nice as a visit anyway?

Thanks

estuve en esa zona de vacaciones (holidays) el año pasado (last year).

la zona de la playa beach es muy bonita, pueblos como fuengirola, marbella (para ricos wealthy people), puerto banus (mucho porche and expendive brands), torremolinos, are muy bonitas. además el tren es muy facil, rapido y bastante economico.

Ronda and mijas are beautiful. GO to them.

si tienes tiempo, ve tambien a gibraltar, there english is spoken, like your house jejeej. and there are mokeys.

I'm not exactly sure how far a drive it is, but Ronda is definitely worth the time! It's on the edge of National forest, and tons of great outdoor activities in the area. Biking is really big business, there. Take the Ruta de los Pueblos Blancos and stop at any of the white towns along the way (I believe there are two or three on that leg) or just enjoy the beauty of nature (the part of the road that we drove was incredible! Betw. Seville and Ronda...really steep drop offs, hairpin turns...we couldn't go much over about 20kph in some spots, but breathtaking! I don't know what that leg looks like).

Ronda, itself, is a very cute little town! About 300 m cliff (I think) on one side, split by a gorge, which is spanned by one of the most beautiful bridges in the country. History of the town goes back to at least the Romans. There is a Museum of Witchcraft, the bullring (I keep thinking it's the oldest one in Spain - the information I am finding says "one of the oldest"), Arab quarter, with Baths, a Roman crypt - burial ground, and a couple of palaces. Not to mention the views from the Parador! Have coffee there, and just sit on the terrace to enjoy!

This is a nice little bit of information...click on photos...they look quite good!

This one has a spectacular photo of the Puente Nuevo (New Bridge)

Here's another with some good historical information.

(I'm not much of a beach person, but love the rest of AndalucĂa.)

¡Buen viaje!

lots of choice.
yes ronda is beautiful, but within two and a half hours of malaga, you can go southwest to gibraltar (though its supposed to be awful), west to cadiz (fantastic!!), northwest to seville(also fantastic), north to cordoba (though i'd stop in antequera because it's smaller and lovely), northeast to granada and jaen, or east along the coast to almeria.

my recommendation would be antequera, or go to granada, and follow the road through the city and up into the sierra nevada - a massive national park. it's maybe an hour and a half from malaga but you can ski there until march!! and it's beautiful
