Such a general question, all holidays are dependant on your age and expectations.
If you enjoy a raucous night life then Benidorm, if you want peace and quiet Benalmadena or Calpe. |

I think the south would be great in October. Depends what you want to do, though. I think the coast might be getting a bit chilly for swimming and such, but Sevilla should be gorgeous! The heat has died down by now, so no longer unbearable. Granada should be perfect! The flowers will still be in bloom in the gardens at the Generalife, but the heat, again, will be much less unbearable! You might even want sweaters. Also, very few tourists, so lines for things like the Alhambra, not two hours long to enter, you know?
If you go to Madrid, again, no two hour plus lines to get into the Prado, etc., though for SURE you want a sweater for mornings, and maybe evenings. It will be getting cool then, but probably warm during the daytime.
I should think ideal for most of the mainland. |

You can't always guarantee the weather in October - you'd be better off in Tenerife, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria, Cyprus. But you need to be more specific - age/type of hol/ etc. |

Due to Spain's geographical situation and orographic conditions, the climate is extremely diverse; it can be roughly divided into three areas,so you can choose what you prefer.
A Continental Mediterranean climate in the inland areas of the Peninsula (largest city, Madrid).
A Mediterranean climate region extends from the Andalusian plain along the southern and eastern coasts up to the Pyrenees, on the seaward side of the mountain ranges that run near the coast (largest city, Barcelona). They get warm winds from the Saharas called Leveche, also known as Sirocco.
An Oceanic climate in Galicia and the coastal strip near the Bay of Biscay (largest city, Bilbao). This area is often called Green Spain.
http://www.spain.info/TourSpain/?Language=en have a look on this web, because to answer your question I would need to know more details.Such as if you prefer big cities or small villages, coast or mountain.Spain has it all,so you can have a good look on the web...
Feel free to contact me if you need farther information and you can give me more details about your holiday. ;:)
All Spain is nice to visit. And October is a nice month, not hot,not cold.
