@Colonita: You are being very rude, and no country as much 'unique' you think it is, doesnt share similaries with other cultures.

Spain is a pretty unique country culturally but does have similarities to Portugal and Italy, generally speaking.

Within Spain you have very different cultures depending on the Area.

For example -- Galicia retains Celtic culture and has similarities with Ireland and Scotland! They also have their own dialect.

Catalonia has a language of its own which is closer to French than Spanish and is almost the same as Provencal. They don't consider themselves to be "Spanish'. Almost like Macedonians vs. Greeks.

The Basque area has its own Language and culture.

The South is very different from the North

Well, it's more similar to France, Portugal and Italy, which are latin countries, but still it's different enough from those. Even in Spain there are quite signifficant cultural differences between de North and the South

depends where you look.spain has varios ways of life inside i ts territory.the basque country and the north are very different to the south. one thing i feel is that it is a place thats alive,it makes you live more.think basically the weather helps there.but also the attitude is very positive, thats it they are a very positive people and want to do as much as they can.working hours can be long with the split day,but then everything goes on longer so the people can do more things even if its late.the people work hard here, not all is fiesta and siesta.like i said earlier living in bilbao is not the same as living in malaga.

GreekLover
i think its like portugal...actually its probably a mix of mexican and morocan....italians have their own little thing going on and arent similar to spanish ppl greeks are similar to polish and russians

Tyrese
Every Country has got it's individuality, but looking at the language of Spain for Example it's base on Latin, just like Portuguese and Italian for example.

I would rather compare Spain to Latin American Countries, but only in respect of food culture and origin of language.
Good Luck!

colonita
in spain even little kids speak spanish... so if you do not know much about spain... better stay in your little town.. spaniards are spaniards... their culture is unique to its people... what kind of question is that u ask? they are not like the french or the italians or the argentinians... they are unique in their culture... why don't u read a little if u want to travel?

I, Clavdivs
haha... spaniards are similar to mexicans but greeks are similar to polish or russians... lol, little greek nazi.

What about Turkey, otoman lady?
