Just so you know, the Moors came all the way up North to my City Pamplona
which is near France in North Spain

and many of the "Kingdoms" of Spain were created as Barriars to STOP the Muslims.

If someone gave you a piece of Land and made you the King of it. I'm sure you'd protect it more than if you was a soldier in the Army - maybe this was the logic behind it

I also think the Moors advanced to Tolouse in France ?? They got quite far

;) Also just so you know, the Moors could NEVER defeat us Basque's so my City is Roman, unlike the rest in the Area

You really have to get straight, that Barcelona actually isn't even part of Spain...at least not from a cultural standpoint. And not in the hearts of the people. They are Catalán, first and foremost...only part of Spain because of some accident of politics...:)

And Madrid. The Moors didn't have a lot of influence on Barcelona. They were THERE, but not terribly influential by comparison.

You want REAL Moorish influence, go to Andalucía...stronger there. Strongest in Granada and Córdoba, which were both capitals of the Moorish empire for a long time.

Teruél, Toledo, Segovia and Sevilla all have very strong influence from the Moors, as well.

In fact, the Moors conquered all the way North to Santiago de Compostela, but their influence was not terribly strong there.

the closer to the south you move in spain the greater the muslim influence. andalucia has the most especially cordoba which was the capital of the muslim world a few centuries ago. i guess to answer your question i could say madrid. but in reality there is not much muslim influence evident.

Madrid is the capital of Spain, but Muslim influence in Spain is pretty much limited to historical Andalucia in southern Spain.
