Which is better for New Year festival? Madrid or Barcelona? |
I'm planning a 6 day 5 night trip to Spain and our group will arrive in Barcelona on 29 Dec. I would like to know if it's better to stay in Barcelona for 2 days and go to Madrid on New Year's Eve or it's better if we go straight to Madrid and return to Barcelona on New Year's Eve.
And, which city is better? |

I agree with Toto. I would also add, that it's tradition to bring grapes. When the clock bells ring 12 times at midnight, everyone eats a grape during each bell toll. It's a blast, the whole experience, and you'll be in for a very fun time in Madrid. |

For New years, and any party time in particular, without doubt is Madrid. In Madrid, you should go to "la puerta del sol". it is the reference for the rest of spain. all the country celebrates new year based on TV transmission from madrid puerta del sol. the streets are crowed, big party.
Barcelona is more for private parties, nightblubs.. more select. |

madrid is great!!! is like times square in new york for americans!! everybodys seein madrid on their tvs in new years eve!! for clubbin just rocks!!
go to kapital, 7 floors of club in the centre!!! it roooocks
or pacha, a club theatre with the best music in madrid!!
or to palacio de gaviria, very international people there and is an old palace in the centre, big and impressive!! or to the penthouse if u like to chill and have a vip atmosphere.
as u see...the list is big and there are much more clubs and parties to joy in!!!
