Barcelona is very cool, but you have the problem of the "catalan". The official languages are SPANISH and CATALAN, but I think catalan is more used by the natives, and although everything is in both languages, it could be a little difficult.
On the other hand, Madrid is less "unique" but it's also a wonderful city and it's typical Spanish. Student life is lively, also the nightlife.
Both cities are very cosmopolitan and have a friendly population.
Both are on par with each other, I like them equally, but I think Madrid is more suitable to you. |

I am spanish, living in Madrid, of course for me being madrilian is the greatest reason, is ma city i know it and I like it...
Barcelona is also great, but the big dissadvantage it has, is the fact that they also speak catalan, a language similar to french, and sppanish is also talked but maybe in some colleges they teach some subjects in catalan, and if u dont know, u could have the add problem of a second foreing language....
In any case, both cities are cool |
