All water in Spain is the same temperature by national mandate: 40 degrees.
The water in the tap marked "C" is in Celsius and the water marked "F" which is in Fahrenheit.
(apparently the above is lost on the humor / science impared. 40 degrees Celsius is *HOT* and 40 degrees Fahrenheit is *COLD*. I think it makes for a good memory tool (all water is 40 degrees) for those who can't remember Caliente / Caldo / Chaud = HOT and FrÃo / Freddo / Froid = COLD)

Most taps in Spain just have blue colour coding for cold and red for hot.
I have never seen one marked F for frio or C for caliente.

F (for "frio")

Actually, it's left is hot, right is cold...just like most places. And IF there are letters (and there certainly USED to be) it's C for hot, and F for cold...because they are IN SPANISH when you are in Spain...

cold water tap: It is indicated with colour Blue or with letter F (frio=Cold)
hot water tap: It is indicated with colour red or also with letter C (caliente=hot)
Also cold water is normally on the right side of the taps on the left is the hot water.
