We doing this again?
No one discovered Spain. It has always been there, and there were people there, who migrated there LOOOOOOONG before anyone was "discovering" places.
The Neanderthal have been there for longest, then Cro Magnon, then the Phoenecians, the Greeks, and the Romans all had settlements there, the Romans built cities and roads and plumbing in the interior. And by then, it was pretty much Hispania, or Spain. |

That's right. You'll find this same question asked - worded in the same way - just one month ago in the thread at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Auv28adeCPIE77Vvnwty_m4jzKIX;_ylv=3?qid=20080501172143AAugW7E
There, you'll find SUE's answer, my answer, and 3 others. Here what I wrote:

And you won't find a person's name unfortunately. "Humans" (and by "humans" I mean we Homo Sapiens - whom came just after Neanderthal man, a different species which died off in Europe 30,000 years ago) back then didn't even have names - and they were barely people and could barely speak more than grunts and making gestures! They were just barely walking upright, in fact.
Homo Sapiens, or "people", have inhabited the Iberian Peninsula since there have been Homo Sapiens shuffling along the earth's surface.
I like your question though. It certainly provokes discussion on many levels.
