Why In Mexico and Spain? |
Why are children as I saw on a Spanish documentary.. allowed to persue cruelty towards bulls, to become matadors...just for fame and fortune?? There should be an age limit, why are these people so fanatical about this so call blood sport. And I wouldnt call it a sport, but hey be free to comment otherwise? Additional Details Carousel..Ieave America out about this, Im talking about children and an animal that is no defence against weapons?? |

Many people seem obsessed with bull fighting.
The USA allows its own form of bull fighting where, although the bull is not killed, it is tormented.
You call it RODEO.
Young calves are cruelly roped and thrown to the ground, then sat on by a big fat guy in a funny hat. All this in the name of sport.
Please note that there are age limits for bull fighters in Spain and young children are not allowed to attend bullfights.
We should be careful when criticising other peoples' culture.
It shows one to be rather ethnocentric. |

People in the USA can teach their kids how to shoot guns and go hunting. It's the same in every country in the world that participates in bloodsports. No bloodsport is a sport. If you are sincere about bullfighting then please show your sincerity against other bloodsports
Bullfighting doesn't take place all over Spain. In many provinces it is banned, in others it has died out. There are some provinces like Andalucia or Extremadura that still participate, but even in those places it will eventually die out. It may take a another couple of generations. However, will other bloodsports die out and will you support their demise!
In America, if you shoot stag from 1000 yards the animal has less chance than the bull in a bullfight. Children do learn to shoot from a very young age. I know this from visiting the States. |

CHILDREN are not allowed to "pursue cruelty towards bulls". There IS an age limit! And children don't actually fight bulls. Children play with models, horns on a rolling cart of sorts. NO one can become a matador until they are 18, which is the legal age of majority in Spain...I don't know the laws in Mexico...but in Mexico they don't kill the bulls.
You don't call it a sport, but then, YOU aren't two whole nations! YOU don't GET to decide what they do in these countries, now, do you?
They fight bulls, because it's a tradition that has its roots in prehistory. It has ALWAYS been a challenge, a proof of manhood, a rite of adulthood and bravery, to take on a wild animal. This tradition goes back...oh, since BEFORE THERE WERE BULLS!
And, FYI, Carousel doesn't have to "leave America". He LIVES in Southern Spain, and he isn't even American!
And the animal DOES have a defense...He has his horns and his bulk...no child is going to take on a bull of a on or more, but when a full ton of angry muscle comes charging at you, I don't think you're going to pooh pooh his defenses.
Oh, and just FYI, bullfighting is practiced in many other countries, and the children are trained there, as well.
CHILDREN are trained in all sports. If you are likely to be one of the best in ANYTHING, you have to start very young! |

In Spain have a law that say the children under 14 years cann“t be in a "Corrida" without a person bigger than 18.
But the problem is their fathers, the education, the father think that is a traditional and national party, but a lot of people of Spain hate it and its change the law soon.
Sorry for my english I“m learnig |

It's not a sport. It's never been considered a sport.
Get your facts right and some insight before talking about something you know absolutely nothing about. I'm not an aficionado myself but your words show nothing but utter ignorance on this topic. But I guess everyone is entitled to their own ignorant opinion. |
