I went to Benidorm last summer, great place I have to say! I only went there for a weekend, one of my friends has an apartment there (2 blocks away from the beach) with views of the sea! It was really gorgeous!

One thing to look out for though is to make sure that you have an air conditioned apartment/house (if not, at least the bedroom!)..

Generally alot of tourists go there for the Nightlife (mostly British, German and Dutch tourists) and the beach. Its also close to Alicante, and a little bit further on the other side is Valencia.. both have good airports.

Everything there has been constructed for tourism: hotels, apartments, multi-language restaurants, etc.. So its not a wonder its a tourist destination!

I like to go visit with people and see the monuments/museums/art.

Oh, and the food!!!

And the shopping, too, though that wasn't as much fun this last trip. They stopped bargaining at the markets!

I don't go to the beaches.

Just my personal opinion.

For Benidorm it would be beaches and nice weather, mostly. Plus, I think, for Brits, it's really cheap.
