It appeals to me for a holiday destination because it (can be) so relaxing, unrushed, generally good-weather (depending on the region and season visiting, that is), GREAT food and drink, and holds a wealth of history and art. And there's SO many interesting things to see without having to spend any money!

For me, personally, I used to like to go to Spain (I now live in Spain) because some of my best friends lived there/here, I loved the food, night's out were the best times I'd had in my life, and my senses were always heightened with all the sounds, smells, sights, and meeting of interesting people.

Enjoy your holiday! I'm sure you'll want to return - maybe permanently!

very passionate and sensual place

For me, it goes back to a deep love for the language and culture, that originated with starting the study of the language at the age of ten.
