Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain, the capital of Catalunya, and is the most cosmopolitan. The city is full of history, night life, good eating, outstanding architecture, beaches, etc. As an architect I have a special interest ( and love ) for Barcelona. The Barrio Gotico with la Rambla is full of street to walk and discover. Barcelona is also famous for Gaudi who builds some of the principal attractions like La Sagrada Familia, Parque Guell, Casa Mila ( La Pedrera ) and Casa Battlo. If you are planning to go for the first time take the touristic buses in from of Plaza Catalunya. The red and blue lines can take you to the principal attractions. If you want something special take the creamayera train up to El Tibidabo historic amusement park in the top of a mountain with the best views to the city.

I have been there 12 times and each time I want to stay and never leave. There is so much to see so many wonderful people to meet. The Catalan people are very gracious and hospitable. Go stay awhile you will understand what I mean.

Barcelona is full of art (gotic churches and palaces, the works of Gaudí, museums like Fundació Miró, Museu Picasso), lively people, at the same time a city with a seaside and beautiful surroundings.

Barcelona is a charming city. Not too big nor too loud. By the seaside. Worth because of its architecture, mild climate and easy to stroll with lots of nice cafes, bars and full of shops.
