Why would you visit spain?

I wanted to know why others would want to go to spain to get an idea of what it may be like

The question shouldn't be "why would you visit Spain?" but rather "Why WOULDN'T you visit Spain?"

Let's assume the person considering this question has never visited Spain before. We'll do that because nearly everyone after having visited Spain before is desperate to return - and with good reason!

Most people are familiar with the fact that Christopher Columbus discovered the Americas (and not "America" as in The United States of America) - although it was never really "lost" - in the name of Spain. This is a HUGE milestone in the history of the Earth's development.

Most people are familiar with the swirling, colorful dresses and attractive, smiling ladies dancing and clicking their fingers and castanets. (referring to Flamenco dancing, of course) This is an image that Spain wants to retain for as long as possible although those of us whom have attended flamenco performances in Spain find the dancing ladies rarely smile but are very serious-looking while going through their difficult steps.

I think most people whom haven't yet visited Spain find the country somewhat "mysterious" or even quaint. I think people think Spain is a bunch of villages stuck in the 19th century or something, expecting small mountain villages with donkey-carts, farmers, and no electricity.

Asking others whom have never been to Spain won't likely help you form your own ideas of why YOU want to go to Spain. Chances are excellent that whichever preconceived notions you may have about the country won't turn out to be a reality. So take it from someone who knows, someone who lives in Spain; Spain is a modern, varied, mostly-progressive country with excellent transportation systems, state-of-the-art medical services, remarkable social services, and resilient people whom love family and being outdoors.

Hope YOU make it to Spain someday soon and experience it for yourself. You'll want to go back!

Thousands of years of History, Art and Architecture. Varied geography and terrain including fantastic beaches, six mountains ranges, wildllife.

Great food with various regional styles, top avant guard restaurants in the world. Some of the best nightlife in the world and people who know how to enjoy life.

The people are so great and the culture is amazing. The architecture is also nice (like the sagrada familia cathedral and other places in Barcelona and Madrid) There are beaches, countryside, and beautiful cities.

I have also loved the Spanish culture for as long as I can remember. I extensively practice spanish everyday. I even have a friend who lives in Nicaragua that helps with my pronounciation every week. Going to Spain gives me the chance to immerse myself in Spanish culture and I get a chance to speak a language different from my own.

It would take me all night to fully answer this question....

The food, the scenery, the architecture, the history, the people.

Because the sun, mediterranean sea, their wines and jamón, because its people and their handsome boys ( I love one madrileño!), and finally because its tapas bar and Prado museum...if you choose Spain, you won't regret ever...

Cause I LOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it there! If it weren't so far from my family, I might have moved there permanently years ago, but then, I'm glad I stayed Stateside. I get to travel once in a while.

What do you want to know?

Primary reason, originally, was to study the language, and see all the things my teacher used to show us in her "home movies". Best week of the year! We never had any homework for the whole week!
