For some Jo but not me! I like a mixture of sand, sea and culture not just the sand and the sea which I believe Gran Canaria has. Some people like the Canary Islands though.

I went to Grand Canary in May, stayed in the popular Playa del Inlges area. i am guessing you are English because you say holiday. There are a lot of English and German tourists there. Not too much Spanish culture. I enjoyed myself, but would not go back, I would try Tenerife. TripAdvisor.com is where I got most of my information before going. I stayed at the Riu Don Miguel, great hotel for the price.
