Anyone been to Zermatt Switzerland???

I need to know about the best things to do in Zermatt, Switzerland, best places to eat, best places to ski....that sort of thing.
I also need some basic info on rock climbing....the equipment and how you go about doing it.
But I need some first hand advice, not just tourist brochures. So if you know anything please answer!!!

I have been there. You have to park the car and then take a small train to Zermatt. No cars are permit in Zermatt. It's great for skiing and there are many great to hiking. It is also a beatifull and unique place. I recomend you to visit

Just be informed that Switzerland is expensive and Zermat is twice expensive than Switzerland.

Funny, I am sitting in zermatt in this very hour! If you go skiing and want to avoid tourists and want to eat well, cross the boarder and ski onto the italian side. Its real easy! Its cheaper and the food is great (unless of course you want to eat rösti and other swiss food.) They also have the fun park near winkelmatten, you can slide from tree to tree! Hiking is absolutely fabulous. If you are in shape, walk up to Trift (you can't see it from zermatt) and order their home-made ice tee! When skiing, eat at Gandegg hütte (klein matterhorn) for an amazing view and omlette, at othmars hütte (sunegga side) for fresh fish and good apricot cake, or chez vrony for good food but please reserve! (robbie williams ate there, there's even a picture!)...If you're searching for a brand new hotel, check out hotel post!

Look, I'd love to tell you more but actually everything is great there!
