I was in Switzerland for 3 weeks. The cities are amazing and everything is beautiful. The city of Lucerne is right on a lake. There are plenty of places to go shopping, museums to visit and landmarks to see. There is also a lot of nightlife if you like to go out to clubs. Also, if you stay in Lucerne, take the ferry to the small town called Vitznau. There's not a lot of shopping but there's a mountain called Mount Rigi. You can take a little shuttle train to the top and walk down. It's amazing because there are little towns in the mountains and parks. The city is also an easy train ride to any of Switzerland's other cities, like the capital, Bern. In Bern there are also a lot of good sites to see. Churches, museums, and a bear pit. You should definitely check it out!

My bf's mom lives in switzerland and we went there 3 weeks ago.
Geneva is amazing. If your there you should take a free tour at the united nations or walk around. When your close to the downtown there are around 7-8 hystorical places you can visit, one of the main one's is the fountain in the lake, it pumps 500 liters of water in the air every second, it's called the jet d' eau.
Only downside about geneva is that it has no nightlife. So keep that in mind.
Oh and try the chocolate and cheese there, it's to die for.

I traveled from the Italian Alps to the Swiss Alps it's beautiful. I even got the opportunity to go in side of a glacier. It was pretty. Lucerne is a very nice place to go shopping. It has the water and flowers and bridges all over the town making the scenery when shopping delightful.

you got to go and see Zurich. It's on the lake as well, beautiful shops. Daytrips to the mountains are possible.
