Born and raised in Texas, but I want to move to Switzerland. Have you been there? How was it? What is your advice to help me relocate, find a job, etc? Thanks for your help?
Moving to Switzerland without a job is nearly impossible because it is only your employers that can arrange a permit for you to stay in the country. And unless you do some specialized form of work (usually in IT or banking/marketing), it is very difficult to get a job here. If you are from the European Union, it may be easier to get a work permit in Switzerland. Without a proper permit, you can forget it as you won't be granted health insurance and can't even rent an appartment. Visit www.monster.ch to check out jobs. I also suggest the website www.englishforum.ch. There you can find out a lot of information about how to get a job and relocate and see as well how others have done it. Hope this helps.
