To travel via Bern would not make sense since you would not have direct connections.
The most effective connections by train take 5 hours and 28 minutes and are as follows:
depart Interlaken West 09:06 or 13:06
arrive at Basel SBB — 10:55 or 14:55
depart from Basel SBB 11:02 or 15:02
arrive at Paris Est —— 14:34 or 18:34
That is right - SBB is the swiss train company, and you can find connections to other european countries on their homepage. Train journey from Switzerland to Paris is very comfortable and takes only a few hours.

There is a TGV (fast train of the French Railroads) from Berne to Paris. This journey takes around 4 1/2 hours.
You'll have to take a train from Interlaken (which is a town in the canton of Berne) to Berne. And after that you can take the TGV. The travel from Interlaken to Berne takes around 50 minutes.
