i do it all the time and i'm still alive :D
i'm swiss and feel very well
p.s.
do you know what's the good thing about water from the tap in Switzerland?
you haven't to buy bottled water except you like the one with carbonic acid. |

Yes.
In fact, it is purer than most American waters. When you drink it, you'll taste less chemicals, and less everything. To many that can seem like a negative thing, like there is bacteria, but with Switzerland you can be assured it's ok.
Even better... you can drink the water from the public fountains! I always fill up my water bottle from one unless it there is a specific label not to do so.
So if you see a fountain like this:

It may look like decoration, but it's also a drinking fountain.
After coming back to America from Switzerland, I actually really miss their drinking water, as strange as it seems. |

Switzerland is in Europe, not the Third World, so as in the rest of Europe you can safely drink the water.
In fact the water quality in Switzerland is considered to be just as pure a bottled mineral water.
And I don't quite understand your additional comment. No-one has said that the water was undrinkable, everyone has been positive about it. |

Switzerland has probably the cleanest water in Europe. The tap water tastes really good. |

Yes you definately can. There are free water fountains all over switzerland and it comes straight from the mountains and so is lovely and fresh. The few fountains that are not drinkable ae very clearly marked. I lived there for many years and can honestly say that the water was the nicest I've had! |

Hi there, I am Swiss and I have lived in Switzerland for over 16 years: I only drink tap water (bottled still water is expensive and sparkling water is repugnant, IMHO) and I perfectly sane and healthy.
Swiss tap water (and for that matter most Western European tap water) is perfectly safe to drink, so you should have no problems whatsoever!
Hope this has helped,

Yes you can.
I lived in Zurich for a month, and then moved to Yverdon (Cities on opposite ends of Switzerland), and I have been living here for about 2 months. and the water is awesome out here.
Everyone drinks it.
Same with my cousins in Geniva, and my friends house in Hemburg.
My boyfriends family lives in Wiessligen,
and his brother in Winterthur.
I have been all of these places, and have had tap water at each place.
Its fine. |

Yes you can. The quality of the water is excellent. A test by a Swiss magazine even proofed that the quality of tapped water is better then the quality of many bottled water brands. |

I lived in Switzerland for 3 years so you can trust me when I tell you YES!
They have some of the best tasting water I have ever had (second only to NYC so far.)
The water won't make you sick if that is what you are worried about. They use less chemicals in their water than we do here in the United States, but it is still treated for parasites and things like that.
Enjoy your trip! |

Yes, without doubt. It is even considered much cleaner than bottled water. My husband had to do an advert for bottled water, and after the tests and so on, he said, rather tap water than bottled water.
Most people who prefer bottled water like it because of the fizzle or bubbles. |

Yes, tap water in Switzerland is much cleaner than in the US. It is some of the cleanest tap water in the world actually. |
