No, I've never been (as a tourist). But I have got £350,000 of diamonds stashed in one of their bank vaults. I lightened the load of an Arabian Prince in Egypt who just had far too many! Could you collect them for me? I'd give you 10% of the value.

I would highly recommend that you start by visiting the website of the Swiss National Tourism Office at http://www.myswitzerland.com/. Then, you need to decide when to go as Switzerland is a year-round destination depending on what interests you most. If you like winter sports or just skiing in general, you are in the right part of the world. Same if you like mountains and hiking in the summer; as well as the many lakes and outdoor activities. It's not a big country at all to explore. You can see a lot in one visit, but you'll miss a lot if you just come once and not return (you just might be hooked on returning again and again). There are very few small places on earth where you can see so much and still not see it all. Don't just see the cities. But rather, take time to wander around the Alps, the Bernese Oberland, the Lac Leman & Ticino regions. One word of advice: as in all things travel-related, Switzerland tends to be somewhat pricey if you don't plan ahead. But if do get the yen to climb or gaze through the clouds, remember that the horn next to Zermatt still does matter!

Ummmm. Switzerland!

I like Lausanne. There's the prettiest vineyards just outside of town. They look pretty, all these vines, in nice, neat rows, but then, patchworked together in different directions. Really pretty. (well, I assume it still looks like that).

Right on the lake, Mont Blanc across. Snow still on the mountain even in mid summer. Genève just twenty minutes away. Really pretty!

But I assume that wherever you go, you'll have a similar feeling.

Switzerland is gorgeous, and the people are the best!

hey, if you are looking to go affordably, i woudl recommend gryon. i went there earlier this year. we stayed in a backpackers which you can see here: www.gryon.com . it was REALLY affordable, as switzerland can be really expensive. the cog train picks you up in bex, and takes you up the hill. you get off at the backpackers, but if you keep on going up with it, you get to villars, and further up is bretaye, which is where we went skiing, and i thought it was awesome.

this was my first time to switzerland and i havent really been anywhere else, but from my experience this place was great

VISP or around. Close to Zermatt but easy to go anywhere in mid Switzerland. Recommended !!!!
