Can you withdraw Euros from Swiss ATM?

I have got some money loaded onto a CashPassport - basically a Visa Electron card to use in Europe as modern travellers' cheques. My question is when I'm in Switzerland (Interlaken) I want to draw cash for my stay in Paris as well. Will I only be able to take Swisss Francs?

Some you can and some you can't. If you go to a bank there are usually several ATMs of which one or two will have Euros (there should be a little sign overhead that says what you can do at any given machine).

At the UBS across the street from Interlaken Ost train station I'm almost sure you can. Inside, not the machine on the street. Not sure why you'd want to, though.

Not true, what you say, Just a friend!

Of course you can withdraw Euros from Swiss ATMs! I live in the country and I do it all the time.

Yes you can withdraw Euros at most ATM machines.

Have fun in Interlaken! You've got to visit the <Kleine Scheidegg> it is the most beautiful place ever!

Sorry to say but a Swiss ATM will only give Swiss Francs.

You don't want to get Euros while in Switzerland, it will be more expensive than if you wait till you get to France. While a preloaded Visa is a good idea, it's still more expensive than getting money from your bank ATM card. Visa charges you a fee when you put money on the card, another fee when you take it out, and then a transaction fee to convert the money. However most bank ATM cards only charges you once, a very small fee when you withdraw. They of course dont' charge to add money since it draws from your bank account, and most don't charge a exchange fee. In fact, most bank ATM cards give you the exact exchange rate which is always the best way to go.
