depends what you want. high up in the mountains, quiet or lots of nightlife?
if you go for 3 or 4 stars you can always look at st. moritz or davos, bigger resorts with enough hotels

Grindlewald is very nice. Not far from Interlaken and some very inexpensive places to stay. Don't miss The Gremmelbach Falls - very impressive!!!!!
There is a very nice little hotel with fantastic food and a homey atmosphere in Rose am See. Sits right on the lake, It's called "Rose am See Hotel". It is just a small village between Thune and Interlaken. Very friendly people and staff. It's where I stay when I'm in the area.

Beware of Max the swan. He is a local celebrity and will chase you all about if you get too close. He even has his own road sign to alert drivers. If you go too slow, however, he will chase the car, hissing and honking all the while. A real sight to see.

Flims Waldhaus, in the canton of Graubunden. Spectacular scenery aand as there is a most beautiful lake it is a fantastic summer resort . It is also a ski resort so you are surrounded ny mountains. All of Switzerland is pricey. Cannot recommend a hotel.
